NCUA is piloting NCUA Connect in the fourth quarter of 2019 and plans to make the portal available to all credit unions and state regulators in 2020.

Modern Examination and Risk Identification Tool (MERIT)

MERIT LogoMERIT is NCUA’s modernized examination platform that provides a series of improvements to streamline the examination process for credit unions and examiners.  MERIT replaces AIRES, the legacy examination program that is over 20 years old.

A few of the improvements include:

  • Secure file transfer within the context of an examination
  • Ability for credit unions to provide status updates and request due date changes on examination findings
  • Online, secure access to completed examination reports

MERIT is being piloted in the fourth quarter of 2019 and the broader use of MERIT will begin in mid-late 2020.
