Created by the U.S. Congress in 1970, the National Credit Union Administration is an independent federal agency that insures deposits at federally insured credit unions, protects the members who own credit unions, and charters and regulates federal credit unions.

The NCUA protects the safety and soundness of the credit union system by identifying, monitoring and reducing risks to the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. Backed by the full faith and credit of the United States, the Share Insurance Fund provides up to $250,000 of federal share insurance to millions of account holders in all federal credit unions and the overwhelming majority of state-chartered credit unions.

The NCUA provides a number of support services to the credit union system, such as providing training, grants and loans, chartering, and field-of-membership services; maintaining the health and stability of Share Insurance Fund; managing the assets of failed credit unions; and providing emergency liquidity.

NCUA Board Announces 2024 Meeting Schedule

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Oct. 12, 2023) – The National Credit Union Administration Board today released its monthly meeting schedule for 2024. Open Board meetings are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Eastern on the following dates:

January 18
February 15
March 21
April 18
May 16
June 13
July 18
September 19
October 24
November 21
December 17

No meeting is scheduled for August and the meeting schedule is subject to change.

The Board meeting calendar is posted to the NCUA’s public website along with the agendas, which are available one week in advance of each open Board meeting. Copies of Board memorandums and other documents related to the items considered are available online at the start of each meeting.

All open Board meetings will take place at the NCUA’s central office located at 1775 Duke St., Alexandria, Virginia, and livestreamed through the NCUA.gov website.
