Chief Information Officer
Rob Foster is NCUA's Chief Information Officer (CIO). Prior to assuming this leadership role, Mr. Foster had been serving as the office's Deputy Chief Information Officer since 2017. As CIO, he is responsible for leading the IT workforce, establishing the organization's IT strategy and roadmap, and safeguarding, operating, and maintaining its technology resources.
Before joining NCUA, Mr. Foster served as the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (CIO) where he oversaw the organization's cyber security and IT workforce. He served as the senior official responsible for IT strategy and directed the full range of IT services for the Navy, which encompassed technology support for nearly 1M personnel. Prior to the Navy, he served as the Deputy CIO for the Department of Health and Human Services, where he led a team of over 200 IT professionals in delivering technology solutions for a customer base of over 10,000 end users.
