NCUA will host a free webinar by the Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives Cybersecurity -- The Basics on Wednesday, May 20, at 2 P.M. (EDT).
The webinar will discuss the NCUA's collaboration with the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) to develop a self-assessment guide for use by the credit union industry.
Additionally, statistics on credit union losses due to cybercrime will be examined along with analysis of some key concerns including:
- Why password protecting documents is outdated
- The consequences for failing to protect member information
- Precautionary measures to protect member information
- Best practices from other credit unions
The webinar will also provide information on a new $7,500 Cybersecurity grant through NCUA's CDRLF for qualifying low-income designated credit unions.
