Member Business Lending Webinar Now Archived on NCUA Website

Alexandria, Va., January 6, 2010 – NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland today announced that the "Member Business Lending: Regulators’ Perspective" webinar is archived online at www.ncua.gov.  The archive includes the actual webinar, the webinar PowerPoint presentation, as well as the webinar transcript and frequently answered questions (FAQs). The detailed slides, transcript, and FAQs provide guidance, best practices and insight into examination of member business lending.

"This webinar offers credit unions insights into federal and state regulators’ perspectives on member business lending," noted Board Member Hyland. "Now, more than ever, credit unions need to fully understand the regulators’ perspective about credit unions’ member business lending programs. I hope credit unions will avail themselves of the information and resources in order to facilitate their conversations with examiners on this topic. I want to extend my thanks again to Linda Jekel, Director of Credit Unions for the State of Washington, Division of Credit Unions and to Erika Eastep and Linda Vick from NCUA for sharing their experience and recommendations to credit unions about member business lending."

The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, operates the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), insuring the savings of over 90 million members in all federal credit unions and most state-chartered credit unions. NCUA operations are funded by credit unions, not tax dollars.
