Loizos Named Director of Equal Opportunity Programs

March 20, 2006, Alexandria, Va. -- The National Credit Union Administration Executive Director Len Skiles announced the selection of Chrisanthy J. Loizos as Director of Equal Opportunity Programs.  Prior to her selection, Ms. Loizos had been serving as Acting Director since January of 2006.

“Christie Loizos is a proven asset to NCUA and her experience with equal opportunity issues will bring a new dimension to this position and strengthen the agency,” Executive Director Len Skiles said.  “She has an impressive resume and will provide excellent direction and policy guidance on EEO matters.”

Ms. Loizos joined NCUA in May of 1999 as an Attorney Advisor in the Office of General Counsel and served as an EEO counselor beginning in September of 2000.  In December of 2005, Loizos was named Acting EEO Complaints Manager before becoming Acting Director of Equal Opportunity Programs.

Before joining NCUA, Ms. Loizos worked for several years as Legal Counsel to the Ohio Department of Commerce in the Division of Financial Institutions and the Division of Securities.

Ms. Loizos holds a J.D. from Capital University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Ohio State University.

The National Credit Union Administration charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the accounts of nearly 85 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions. NCUA is funded by credit unions, not tax dollars.
