NCUA CLARIFIES LETTER TO CREDIT UNIONS REGARDING MEASUREMENT OF CREDIT UNION SERVICE TO MEMBERS FOCUSED FOR FEDERALLY CHARTERED CREDIT UNIONS

Alexandria, VA, February 13, 2006 – The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) clarified today that the Letter to Credit Unions (06-FCU-02) issued on February 10 regarding the measurement of credit union service to the underserved is relevant only to federally chartered credit unions. The Letter to Credit Unions is not relevant to state chartered credit unions.
