John E. Kutchey Named Director of Risk ManagementNovember 29, 2006, Alexandria, Va. – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Executive Director J. Leonard Skiles has selected John E. Kutchey as Director of Risk Management. As Director of Risk Management, Kutchey is responsible for overseeing NCUA's credit union problem resolution program. Kutchey graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore in 1990 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration. Kutchey joined NCUA in 1990 as an Examiner in Baltimore, MD. During his career with NCUA, Kutchey has served as an Examiner; Problem Case Officer; Supervisory Examiner; and most recently the Director of Supervision in Region II. While with NCUA, Kutchey has also completed numerous details including most recently as the Acting Associate Regional Director - Operations in Regional V and as the Acting Director of Insurance in Region II. Kutchey successfully completed NCUA's Executive Development Program in 2004, and has earned several awards, including the Region II Supervisor of the Year in 2003. Prior to joining NCUA, Kutchey worked in the credit union industry as a consultant and in various operational and management positions. The National Credit Union Administration charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the accounts of nearly 85 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions. NCUA is funded by credit unions, not tax dollars.
