La Casa FCU Closes

Member funds are federally insured.

November 8, 2006, Alexandria., Va. -- The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) has liquidated La Casa Federal Credit Union in Newark, New Jersey.

NCUA’s Asset Management and Assistance Center will provide for the continuance of credit union services to the extent possible and equitably complete the liquidation. NCUA has reached agreement with North Jersey FCU to assume La Casa FCU’s share and loan accounts. La Casa FCU’s members may continue to conduct business at the existing LaCasa FCU office until further notice. All member accounts are fully insured up to $100,000 under the coverage provided by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. If consumers have any questions or concerns about share insurance coverage, they should contact NCUA directly at (512) 231-7900.
