Statement of Christiane Gigi Hyland upon Senate Confirmation to the NCUA Board
Washington, DC, November 8, 2005 – The United States Senate confirmed Christiane Gigi Hyland as a Member of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board on November 7, 2005. Ms. Hyland’s 14 years of experience within the credit union system includes work as an attorney in private practice her family’s law firm, Hyland and Hyland, in Alexandria, VA, concurrent service as Executive Director of the Association of Corporate Credit Unions (ACCU) and VP, Corporate Credit Union Relations with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). Most recently, she served as SVP, General Counsel to Empire Corporate Federal Credit Union in Albany, NY, providing independent legal advice and counsel to Empire’s management and board on initiatives, contracts and projects.
