All Hurricane Rita Affected Credit Unions OperationalSeptember 30, 2005, Alexandria, Va. - The fifty federally insured credit unions with assets totaling $1.9 billion that were temporarily closed due to Hurricane Rita are all now reporting operational status in Louisiana and Texas. Even though some credit unions may be operating from back-up sites, members should have access to their funds. NCUA's daily emergency toll-free hotline for Rita victims will also be available this weekend. The hotline number is 1-800-827-6282, and the agency e-mail addresses by state are:
