Dallas Access Across America Summit PostponedAlexandria, VA, September 23, 2005 – The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) announced today the Access Across America Economic Empowerment Summit scheduled for Dallas on October 12, is postponed due to the expected hurricane effects on Texas. “We are pleased with the tremendous interest in the summit and look forward to rescheduling the event early next year,” said NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson. “With Hurricane Rita’s impending landfall, it is likely there may be interruptions to credit union operations. While we look forward to hosting the event in Texas, we feel it would be best to postpone to a more opportune time.” The one-day free event scheduled to be held at the Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas will be rescheduled for early 2006. The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, operates the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), insuring the savings of over 84 million account holders in all federal credit unions and many state-chartered credit unions |
