FinCEN and Financial Agencies Issue Joint Statement on Providing Services to Money Services BusinessesThe Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”), together with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of Thrift Supervision, and the National Credit Union Administration today issued the attached statement to clarify their expectations regarding banking organizations’ obligations under the “Bank Secrecy Act” when opening and maintaining accounts for money services businesses.
