Issues Prohibition Orders

March 16, 2005, Alexandria, Va. – The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) has issued orders prohibiting each of the following individuals from participating in any manner in the affairs of federally insured financial institutions.

  • Sarah Lockwood, former loan officer with BNSF Credit Union, Amarillo, Texas.
  • Jason Christopher Nunez, former employee of Credit Union of Southern California, Whittier, California.
  • Bessie Jo Peoples a.k.a Bessie Tina Jo Peoples, former manager of Phenix Pride Federal Credit Union, Phenix City, Alabama.

ORDERS OF PROHIBITION
Sarah Lockwood, without admitting or denying fault, consented to a prohibition order to avoid the time and expense of litigation.

Jason Christopher Nunez pled “no contest” to one count of grand theft and was sentenced, by the Criminal Court of Los Angeles County, California, to three years formal probation and ordered to pay restitution totaling $49,884 to Credit Union of Southern California.

Bessie Jo Peoples was convicted of theft and sentenced to 6 months in prison and 5 years supervised probation and ordered to pay $205,434 in restitution to Phenix Pride Federal Credit Union.

Violation of a prohibition order is a felony offense punishable by imprisonment and a fine of up to $1 million.
