Matz Announces April PALS Workshop to Help Credit Unions Reach “New Markets, New Members, and New Business”Free Workshop April 28 in St. Louis, Missouri January 18, 2005, St. Louis, Mo. – NCUA Board Member Debbie Matz has announced a free Partnering and Leadership Successes (PALS) workshop on April 28 in St. Louis to help credit unions gain new members and new business by reaching new markets. “Our Spring PALS workshop will help credit unions of all sizes capitalize on opportunities to build their loan portfolios and strengthen their bottom lines,” Matz explained. “Panels of credit union leaders will share different approaches that have proven successful in serving markets where there is little competition from other insured financial institutions.” To register for this free PALS workshop, visit www.ncua.gov and click “April 28, St. Louis, Missouri.” Officials from large and small credit unions, federal and state credit unions, are all invited to attend. Networking opportunities will be available during breakfast and lunch. The PALS workshop in St. Louis will be co-hosted by the Missouri Credit Union League, Credit Union National Association, Illinois Credit Union System, Iowa Credit Union League, Kansas Credit Union Association, and National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions. There are also a few seats remaining for the PALS workshop in Orlando, Florida, on February 8. To register for this free workshop on “How to Serve Everyone in Your Field of Membership,” visit www.ncua.gov and click “February 8, Orlando, Florida.” A public service veteran of 25 years, Matz was named as a recess appointee to the NCUA Board in January 2002 and nominated to a seat on the Board on February 27, 2002. The U.S. Senate confirmed her on March 22, 2002. As part of the NCUA Board, Matz oversees the regulation of federal credit unions and the administration of the federal insurance fund covering approximately 9,300 credit unions in the U.S. Matz is a member of three credit unions and resides in McLean, Va. with her husband and two children. Before her appointment to the NCUA Board, Matz was appointed by President Clinton as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Administration in the Department of Agriculture. |
