O.U.R. Federal Credit Union located in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene is Oregon’s oldest Community Development Credit Union. Designated a CDFI in 1999, we offer a variety of financial services and products geared towards low-income and Latino residents.

Lane MicroBusiness

Lane MicroBusiness provides free small business assistance and education through its technical assistance and training program for low-income micro entrepreneurs in Lane County. The program was created to promote healthy small or micro businesses in Lane County by:

Helping entrepreneurs develop and improve their business skills
Assisting entrepreneurs to manage growth
Teaching entrepreneurs to increase profitability
In order to qualify for services, the potential candidate must:
Have five or fewer employees
Have capital resource needs less than $35,000

Lane MicroBusiness classes provide the educational foundation of the program. Classes are offered in Fall, Winter & Spring.

This 10 week (30 hour) class is designed to help entrepreneurs do the following:

Decide if self-employment is right for them
Write a business plan that includes
Market Research
Potential Target Markets
A Marketing Plan
Business Structure
Product Pricing & the Cost of Doing Business
Basic Financials
Network with other entrepreneurs

MicroBusiness Financials

This 9 week (27 hour) class is an advance class designed to help entrepreneurs better understand detailed financials in the following manner:

Teaching the structure of the income & balance sheet and cash flow statement
Showing the connection between these statements
Understanding the importance of cash flow projections
Identifying how these statements assist with applying for a loan, tracking profitability or loss, and understanding the entrepreneurs’ business capacity
Specialized Workshops

Lane MicroBusiness offers a variety of occasional workshops on specialized topics of particular interest to micro entrepreneurs.
